EXXOTEST® educational harnesses and fault boxes
Measure, understand and diagnose on-board electronic systems
The maintenance of modern vehicles and machines increasingly relies on the mastery of on-board electronic systems. Computers, sensors, actuators and communication networks are now at the heart of vehicle operation.
To train technicians effectively and enable them to develop a genuine diagnostic approachit is essential to have teaching equipment that enables them to to observe, measure and simulate real-life faults on electronic systems.
The EXXOTEST® educational harnesses and fault boxes have been designed to meet precisely this objective.
These solutions allow simple access to ECU signals, and the creation of educational faults in a secure environment.
Direct access to ECU signals
The operating principle is simple and effective:
the educational wiring harness is connected in series between the vehicle wiring harness and the electronic control unit.
This architecture allows all ECU inputs and outputs to be accessed directly from the fault box. Learners can then :
- measure electrical signals from sensors and actuators
- analyze power supplies and weights
- observe communications between ECUs
- understand the behavior of electronic systems
Measurement points are available on 4 mm safety sockets, facilitating the use of conventional measurement tools such as multimeters or oscilloscopes.
Simulate breakdowns to develop the diagnostic approach
In addition to measurement, one of the major benefits of EXXOTEST® fault boxes is the ability to simulate realistic faults on electronic circuits.
An internal board, accessible and lockable by the teacher, can be used to create different types of fault on the ECU’s channels:
-
line cuts
-
short circuits
-
line resistors
-
power disturbances
This pedagogical approach enables learners to :
-
implement a troubleshooting methodology
-
interpret measurements
-
understand the impact of a fault on system operation
Scalable trouble-shooting boxes
EXXOTEST® fault boxes are available in several configurations to suit different electronic architectures:
54-channel trouble-shooting box
-
access to 54 calculator lines
-
creation of faults: interruption, short-circuit, resistance
-
